Hi! I am Tahseen Banu….a self taught artist. Drawing and coloring have been my passion since I learnt to hold a pencil! I‘ve tried my hand at all mediums of painting and I recollect that my hand-painted netted dupattas were a hit in my college campus.
My stint at Madura Coats when I designed the Anchor Stitch Kits for their embroidery designs is what I enjoyed the most. Almost the entire Walt Disney and The Lion King range was done by me.
My son’s recent birthday motivated me to do a portrait of him in his golfing posture for which I required professional help as I hadn’t done portraits before. Apneet’s knife painting inspired me to try my hand at that because for some reason I never liked knife-work. Well, today my knife painting holds pride of place at home.
Expressions has some lovely ceramic paintings on display which again compelled me to do my own bit of work….which is a very unique theme of Islamic art…the profile of a Mosque door in Cyprus.
Anyway, if one thing led to the other, then I think the credit should go to Expressions for the wonderful work they do and their method of teaching is at par with the best of art anywhere today!!
